Happy New Year!!
This morning I have a little hair of the dog for your morning brunch. It’s no secret champagne is one of my favorite drinks, but when it comes to brunch, once I had a Mr. Funk mimosas were over for me. The Mr. Funk of New Orleans is a champagne cocktail from Brennan’s (also of New Orleans). My first visit there, I had this with my brunch, and I was hooked not only on Brennan’s, but the cocktail with the funk-y name.
The Mr. Funk is simple to make – it’s a blend of champagne, peach schnapps, and cranberry juice. Mix one up for yourself and ring in the new year right!
Mr. Funk of New Orleans
from Breakfast At Brennan’s And Dinner, Too
Serves 1
3 ounces champagne
2 1/2 ounces cranberry juice
1/2 ounce peach schnapps
1 whole ripe strawberry (optional, for garnish)
Pour the champagne into a stemmed glass, then add the cranberry juice and schnapps. Garnish with a strawberry and serve.
This looks beyond yummy.
It’s my fave, but that 1/2 ounce of schnapps gives it quite the kick after having a few! So drink with caution, because you’ll definitely want more than one 😉
