Last night I was craving veggies, so we headed down the street to a Lebanese restaurant I had passed by a few times. I was rewarded with this amazing Greek salad, whose greens were cut into a chiffonade, just the way I like them! We also tried the spinach pie which was delicately spiced and quite nice, as well as the grilled kafta. While the kafta itself could have used a little more seasoning, when paired with the garlicky chili sauce, fresh onions and parsley, and the flatbread with some amazing spiced spread inside, there was no want for flavor. Finished off with a bit of baklava, the meal certainly hit the spot.

Just the thing for this cold weather. Spicy and warm, tipped with a little English cheddar.

Watched the game at Bodean’s, which serves up KC BBQ, along with every other type of Q. Dad’s is way better, but you can’t beat a place in London that guarantees to have NFL on the TV in season. At Bodean’s, Poland Street.

My first fish and chips in London did not disappoint. While it is would have been phenomenal with a few flakes of sea salt added right out of the fryer, the batter was so light and crispy and the dish so perfectly cooked that I didn’t mind. Also, the first mushy peas I’ve had and liked!
At The Phoenix, Palace Street.

On top of arugula, with sauteed onions, a very light balsamic vinaigrette, and Roquefort cheese. It just needs a bit of crunch… I’d say walnuts or pepitas next time.
