Peri Peri chicken with spiced rice and the yummiest peas I’ve ever had. They’re very reminiscent of my goat cheese, mint & pea pasta.

Last night I was craving veggies, so we headed down the street to a Lebanese restaurant I had passed by a few times. I was rewarded with this amazing Greek salad, whose greens were cut into a chiffonade, just the way I like them! We also tried the spinach pie which was delicately spiced and quite nice, as well as the grilled kafta. While the kafta itself could have used a little more seasoning, when paired with the garlicky chili sauce, fresh onions and parsley, and the flatbread with some amazing spiced spread inside, there was no want for flavor. Finished off with a bit of baklava, the meal certainly hit the spot.

It may be the low tech version, but I’m very happy to be back to fresh ground beans, strong espresso, topped with a bit of “frothed” milk in the morning (hand-whipped, by moi). Japan followed by England with their tea cultures and ubiquitous instant coffee has made me appreciate this morning ritual soooo much more.
